Step 1.

1cup quick oatmeal

1 1/4 cup boiling water

Stir together. Set aside while preparing the batter.

Step.2

1 stick softened butter

1 cup sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

Cream together

Add cooled oatmeal

Step 3

1 1/2 cup flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Add to butter mixture, add oatmeal. Stir till combined. Bake 350 degrees 30 mins.

Step 4

Topping: While cake is baking combine 6 tablespoon soften butter,3/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup chopped nuts, 1/4 cup cream or milk. When cake has finished baking spread topping on hot cake. Place oven rack down 2 spaces before broiling. Place cake under broiler till bubbly. Only takes a few mins..keep checking to make sure it doesn’t burn.( be careful when the cake is under broiler it will burn quickly).
