2 cups dried beans
1 ham hock (or you can use bacon)
1 chicken bouillon cube
5 cups water
Salt to taste
Sort the beans to remove any rocks, dirt, or beans that don’t look the beans your cooking.
Wash beans by putting in a bowl of cold water and swishing around to clean the beans then drain. Do this several times depending on how dirty the beans are. When water is clear drain and set aside. In crockpot add 5 cups hot water and bouillon. Add the beans and salt to your taste. Turn crockpot on high for 4 hours. When beans begin to boil stir. Stir beans, stirring a few times while cooking. Serve with cornbread or homemade buttermilk biscuits. Enjoy!

Good stuff!
