This is a delicious dessert. You can use the berry pie filling of your choice. You will make this over and over again.
Frosting:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons hot water ( you can use milk instead of water)
Mix all ingredients add water 1 tablespoon at a time till the consistency is smooth. Drizzle over cooled ring.
Cherry Ring: Bread Machine method
1 cup warm milk
1 egg beaten
1/4 cup butter
3 1/3 cups flour
3 tablespoons sugar
3/4 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 pkg. Rapid Rise Yeast..
Butter softened
Cinnamon
1 can cherry pie filling
Temper the egg with the milk, in bread pan pour milk, egg, salt, vanilla and butter. Add flour then sugar, slightly cover sugar with a little of the flour. Make a little hole in the middle add yeast and cover lightly with the flour. Place bread pan in bread machine. Mix on dough cycle..when finished punch dough down, place on floured board. Roll dough out into rectangle shape. Spread some butter over the dough, sprinkle with cinnamon, add pie filling spreading evenly to the ends of the dough. Roll jelly roll style. Try stretching the roll tightly as you roll to even out the filling and the center doesn’t become bigger than the ends. Place on greased sheet pan, seam side down. Pull the ends together making a ring. Pinch the ends together. Pull the ring slightly to even out the ring. Brush with melted butter. Cut slits in dough. Cover and let rise 30 mins. Then place in 350 degree oven for 25 -30 mins. Remove from oven and cool. When cooled drizzle on frosting. Enjoy!
