Breakfast this morning. The bacon is #Farmland thick sliced bacon. I like it because it doesn’t shrink up when frying or in the oven on a rack. I cut the peices in half for pan frying. Makes it easier to turn the peices. We got a lot of rain last night and this morning. Our area has flooding in several areas. The birds are enjoying the clean fresh air, they are really singing. Today is August 1st, it won’t be long now till the rag weed is in full bloom. The flowers are pretty , my allergies won’t agree. When we lived in the country I was walking out in the pasture when along the fence line I noticed beautiful yellow flowers. Knowing me I was thinking these would look beautiful on my kitchen table. I picked a bouquet. Walking back to the house I spotted some wild roses. I pulled up several plants. As I place a clean table cloth on the table,I got a #mason jar full of water, carefully put the beautiful bouquet of flowers in the jar of water, I was singing in my heart, so happy for my find. Stepping back to view my prize, I said out loud,” see I don’t need to buy flowers when we have an abundance just for the picking.” On to plant the beautiful wild roses. I was really satisfied with what I had achieved. My neighbors stopped by, I invited them in, the first thing I was ask was did I know what the flowers were that I had on the table. They were rag weed. Needless to say the bouquet was replaced with a lamp. Lol. As for the roses? Let’s just say my husband was not happy when it was time to mow the yard. The roses spread everywhere. Aww country life. I really do miss living in the country. I miss cooking on the old #Home Comfort wood cooking stove. I loved the smell of the wood, the wonderful aromas of food wafting through the house. The wood cook stove just worked magic on your foods. Today another busy day shopping to do and 2 new dishes to cook. So I’m going to scoot out of here and get busy. Enjoy your time in the kitchen..Lets Cook! Jeri
